I just replaced my wiring harness, stator, rectifier/regulator and power pack on my 1986 Evinrude V4 140 HP outboard. The regulator overheated causing damage to all these parts and that is why I had to replace them. I have the wiring diagram but am having some issues understanding or deciphering it.

At the end of the harness there are 2 wires that are brownish in color and have pin connectors on them. I am trying to figure out where they go. does anyone have any idea what they are for? I don't see any obvious place to connect them....
Do you know a good mechanic that is good with electrical/ignition issues that I can contact?

THANKS!

if the wires have a yellow tracer on them they are probably for the kill switch although most are black with yellow tracer.

Just discovered that they are for the sensors that are on each side of the engine. All good! Now I hope it starts after I get everything hooked up. Thanks guys!
