1995 Mercury 200hp EFI Xri. I have replaced the fuel hoses from tanks to engine with new approved hose. Now the question...Are the molded hoses on the engine (the ones under the cowling)..are they just as susceptible to ethanol breakdown as the tank hoses? Regardless would I be money ahead to replace due to age (20 years old) if so, are the molded hoses a Mercury item or can they be replaced using bulk hose that is cut to length? My concern in using bulk hose is hose pinching (kinking) in the elbows. Your thoughts ????

I only use the heavy re-enforced wall marine hose. Where the hose come out of the fuel pump and goes to the fuel filter and where the hose comes from the filter back to the VST will kink and close off if you use thin wall automotive hose. That is not molded hoses on the fuel lines their. The molded ones are at the bottom of the electric fuel pump and at the top of the VST for the fuel filter and fuel regulator. Do not over look the filter inside of the bottom hose on the electric fuel pump.
