Aluminum props??

Admittedly, I'm old school. But the conventional wisdom always was that if you run in stumps, sticks, rocks and other nasty stuff - you run a stainless prop.
Now I see a prop / outboard guy on a show the other day saying - No, in that stuff you run an aluminum, so that when you hit something it breaks the prop and doesn't damage the lower unit.
I once broke TWO of those things in one day on Lake O th' Pines, swearing I'd never run another aluminum prop. And I haven't.
Have things changed?
