I have a 200 efi mag that has a new powerhead on it that has been in and out of the shop due to it not running correctly. When you first crank it it fires right up but when you try and take off it just plows and doesn't run but 2,000 rpm. After you let it fast idle around 1,000 rpm for about 15-20 min you can take off and it will run fine with just a hiccup or two. Then it may not mess up again the rest of the day. But everytime you take it out it does the same thing. Any ideas? The stator has checked out good. The voltage regulators the computer all check out. Fuel pressure is good. New plugs. Injectors cleaned and flow tested.

Timing is off? When the engine is warmed up then the timing is adjusted to just about the correct setting. That is just a guess but seems plausible. Might be the thermostat is sticking until warm too.

Current Cylinder Index is 42.

how and who checked tha ecu? sounds like might be map sensor in tha ecu...with motor runnin', disconnect tha temp sensor on tha port head.. its two tan/blk wires..listen for change. disconnect tha air temp sensor on plenum on starboard side..two brown wires.. listen for change.. no change with either they are suspect..need ta be checked.. also tha tps is suspect needs ta be checked with ohm or dva meter.....

these are things that need ta be checked if your sure tha fuel system is solid....

The Ecu was swapped with another motor that runs correctly. Thanks for the feedback I will check it out and get back with an update soon.

I chased a bogging problem on a 1996 2.5 EFI for a week last year. Accidently found the problem while running at the ramp, I was hooking up to check the voltage on the TPS, placed my left hand on the top left side of the ECU and the motor picked up 500 rpm`s. Could not find what was wrong with the harness. Replaced the motor wiring harness and she ran right.
