I need expert advice. I have a 1999 200hp Yamahaw i was in the process of changing lower unit oil. I satrted draining the oil and it was green color what i had and had used in my Mercurys i had was the clear/yellow tint 80w to 90 gear oil from wal-mart. SO i looked at the manual and it said to use Hypoid SAE90w gear oil. I did find Citco gear oil that said it was good for SAE 90w and it was green. My question on my Yamahaw is i'm i ok with using the Citco superguard marine plus which is good for SAE90w or do i need to get the Hypoid SAE90W oil. I know your are not suppose to mix oils/lubes so that why i was hesitant to put the wal-mart oil due to different color. I will post this in the Boat section also needind an answer ASAP due to leaving on trip tomorrow so i'll need to cahge it out if need be . Thanks.
