Well, I am beginning to think Motorguide is not going to get this thing working right. Two weeks ago mine started going crazy on the water, while in anchor. All of a sudden, it started gyrating left and right at full power, causing it to back away from the anchor point at a fast rate. I let it go for about 30 seconds, thinking it would settle down, but it didn't so I shut it down, and then trolled back to the spot under manual mode. I put it in anchor again, and then - it did it again! And, it was trying to twist the cables out of the case by winding them round, and round the shaft! Something was really wrong with this thing again. taz

So, I called MG and they told me to take it to my authorized service center for some more warranty work. Just three months ago, it was in the shop for a month while they waited for new circuit boards, but they did finally get it back to me "fixed". It worked ok for about two months, then started drifting more and more.

I can not say enough good things about Boris Marine over in Ft. Worth! Don Boris, and his team, did a great job working on my problem again last week! I called and talked to Danny and explained my problem and relayed what MG tech support told me. And, I explained that we had company in town from New York, and a six year old boy that was really wanting to go fishing to catch some crappie (I had been telling him about this for several weeks, so he was really looking forward to going.)

I made arrangements to take it in last Thursday and they worked it while I waited. After two hours, they had it fixed! Replaced the gps boards again. Again, this is the very best service one could ask for!

Put the motor back on the boat and hooked it back up to my Lowrance network, and it worked pretty well. Still have some network issues, but the motor was now working to hold on the spot just like it did when I got it! Then, we all went fishing!

Boy, what a great time that little boy had for two days! He caught many small fish, but he had a great time on the water and that Xi5 worked perfectly! Well, our visitors are back in New York, and telling stories about the successful fishing trip.

The real story here is the GREAT support I got from Boris Marine! flehan
