I "sharpened" my stainless steel prop just barely on my aluminum Triton bass boat yesterday. It is hard to see the little knick that is there, probably about half the size of the eraser on a pencil, but I was wondering how bad does the damage have to be before you should stop using the prop and engine before you cause more damage to other parts of the engine?
Thanks.

it's not going to cause an engine or lower unit problem.
those little dings are eventually where a crack will start.
at some point you will just need to have it welded and repaired to specs.
