My boat has set up for a few months. Trailer was broken. It was running fine when I stopped using it. The trailer is now repaired and I am trying to get the boat ready to go. When I start it I am getting a constant alarm and the bottom light on the round alarm panel is lit up. It will not allow motor to rev past idle. While looking around under the cowling I found a wire that is not attached to anything. The end with the quick disconnect was laying at the front of the motor on the port side. The wire is tan with blue or purple stripe. If I am not mistaken the wire has something to do with the heat sensor. Also the twist on fuel filter does not have a wire attached at the bottom. What color wire is that supposed to be? I have looked at the Mercury color code but can not find anything on what wire goes to the fuel filter. Thanks for any info.

Brown with the blue strip is for a temp gauge and the water sensor is a tan wire. Top off the motor mounted oil tank.
