I have a 21 ft Cobra Viper (201D), running a Yammie OX-66 225 with a Yammie 27 M three blade stainless prop. I feel like it's over propped, in that I'm only able to get 4800-4900 rpm WOT and 64 mph. Hole shot is slow and steep, and I KNOW this boat will do 72-75 with the correct prop. My 20 ft Skeeter with a 23 Raker would do 5800rpm and 72 all day long. Wondering if anyone out there has a need for a very nice 27M Yamaha Pro Series stainless 3 blade. I'd like to do a Yamaha 25 or a Tempest 25,...but mainly,...just need to prop it down a couple notches. I'm just throwing this out there,...cuz ya never know. TIA,...hit me up here.

you need to try to raise/lower the engine (probably raise) and find the sweet spot.

you can drop 2" pitch but you will only gain about 400 rpm if you leave the engine where it is.

go see josh at steves custom props in quitman, let them tell ya what is goin on and what you need.

I talked at length to Josh before I even saw your response. He thinking a 25 Tempest as well, plus his custom tune up. Gotta head back to Alaska next Sunday, so I'll just have to leave the proppin for January. Thanks for the input,...I'll get it dialed in, I GAU-ROON-TEE.
