I have a 2014 Ranger Z521C with a Mercury 250 ProXS. When I first purchased the boat it would run 67mph top speed with 2 people no tackle Fury 24p prop. I had gorilla hull installed in December. After the install, it was running 63.8 @ 5600 rpms. Once tackle was added with my tournament partner and I, it was running 59 @ 5600 rpms. After talking to Steve's prop shop, I switched to tempest 24p that was worked. The boat definitely lifted better than it ever has with this prop, but still only running 61.8 on GPS @ 5600 rpms fully loaded with partner and I. Does anyone have any experience with a gorilla hull on a similar boat? Any suggestions on setup?

you added hull wght, tackle and a partner. summer kills performance too, ask steve about a 4 blade prop for summer set up and keep the tempest for winter/cooler water.

ask him about the jackplate (if you have one), may need to raise it some to get the rpm back up.

you need a 10" plate if you don't already have one.

I have a hydraulic jack plate. I was running about 3" below pad. Now I'm running about 3 1/4". I may be getting all she is going to give, but I just can't believe there isn't a better combination to improve the performance.

those gorilla hulls usually take off 3-5 mph
very difficult to get it all back.
