Been researching bow guards and found several metal (stainless steel) options. I've been leaning towards www.gator-guards.com's BOWSHIELD
Anyone have issues with these staying on? Are there any alternatives to metal? I guess anything too soft will get squished in by the front roller in the trailer. I think I would prefer a hard rubber/plastic with a super strong holding adhesive backing. Please share your experiences with any products that you have utilized. Thank you kindly!

Referring to more of this location in the web address below (not really where the keel guards go). Don't want to buy an entire keel guard and only use a section of it (would cost more than I want to pay). I already have a Hamby's beaching bumper, but that does not cover the area I am looking to protect. http://www.gator-guards.com/bowshield-bow-guard/Would like a product similar to the keel guards or the Hamby's beach bumber in a smaller section to protect the area of the bow the boat typically touches on the trailer front roller. Just cannot find one on the web. Anyone know of one and can point me in the right direction. I was almost thinking of buying a product I have used on sportbikes in the past that adheres to the side of gas tanks to provide grip for one's knee as you lean the bike into turns. I may go with that (or the sportbike tank protector pads used on top of tanks and not the side grip pads) and see if that will work on my boat's bow area that comes in contact with the roller when on the trailer. Just want to avoid the metal guards if I can.

Here is what I bought a few months ago, works good. You will have to bend it to fit your bow area, and so far on mine it has stayed in place and held up well. Bow Guard

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the responses thus far...keep em' coming if you have any other suggestions and/or experience with protecting the area on the bow that touches the trailer roller.

Original Hamby's...still the best. The rest don't hold a candle to them.
