Good evening, I have a 203 champion with 225hp pro xs optimax. I'm currently running a 25 tempest plus prop. I somehow scuffed one of my blades with a good size ding! I have a brand new 26 tempest plus in storage just wondering what stepping up to a 26 is gonna do? Or would it be better to get prop re worked! I'm new to bigger hp motors and props, any info is appreciated! Thanks!

It may give you more bow lift and maybe lose 100 or so rpms but you will never know until you try it. All boat and prop combos act different. I think you will be okay. I run a 26 with 1 large hole pvs plug and the other three no plug at all. And i get good results. Try it.

Going up to the 26 will do a few things for you. None of which you will like unless that 26p has been worked. Your holeshot will slow down some the top end rpm will fall by about 200 rpm and the 26's had laid back tips so it wont carry the boat very well. I would get that 25 repairedand run the 26 till you get it back then return the 26 back to its resting place.
