I'm in the process right now. Started it today. It's not for the faint of heart or OCD folks like me. Lol. I started by trying to "peel" the stickers. That lasted about 5 minutes....out came the D/A sander, one hour later, I started laying in dura-glass filler and sanding with 400grit. Lol.

My original stickers peeled chunks of paint with them. That's when the "screw it" came into play. Haha

Tomorrow, I spray sealer and primer. Maybe base coat. Then I'm applying new decals or air brushing a bass skeleton on it....then clear coating.

Boat looks funny with a huge trash bad over the motor m

There are a couple you tube has videos that give some good tips. A heat gun loosens up the glue, clean the surface with alcohol, then use soapy water to ease decal placement. Then squeegee the water out from under the decal and dry off. Make sure you take some measurements before you take the old one off to get an idea where new one should be placed. Use painters tape to help make sure you have a straight edge reference. Good luck....

If the motor is the slightest bit old....you will know where to put the replacement decals. The paint underneath the old decal will be much less faded.

Ummm. Yeh. This wasn't my first rodeo. Haha.

How's it looking now? No more stickers and chunks of paint missing. Tomorrow, wet sand and polish....then the new stickers.
