Looking at two boats as a first bass boat, what are peoples thoughts on either boat?
Ones a 2008 Triton 18explorer with 115hp mercury optimax the other is a 2011 Skeeter sx180 with 130hp evinrude

Can't go wrong with either one of those. Me personally the Skeeter.

I personally would regret not having at least a 150 horsepower. You probably will want more power pretty quickly! I assume those are 18 footers or close to. I have a 18 foot Nitro bought new with a Mercury 150xr6. I love it! Hope you're happy with your choice

I believe the skeeter is 17'8" and is already maxed out with the 130hp where as the triton is 18'6" and can be maxed out at 150hp but that would also require more money for a new motor, the triton is also $2,500 more at the moment

I would get the Skeeter then. What years? Condition? I do feel the Triton would be under powered. Depends on your wants out of your boat. Just don't rush...remember there are lots of boats out there.
