I just bought a 2000 model Stratos 283 with a 175 Johnson and I am having problems with the boat being slow out of the hole and slow to get up to speed. My top speed is around 62 which is fine with me but it takes forever to get that fast. Also when I put my boat on the trailer it boggs down really bad with I try and throttle it up the trailer. Should I be looking at getting a smaller prop or would adjusting the jack plate help me out? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am running a 14 1/2 24 pitch raker prop. Seems like that would be a good size for that boat and motor. The motor Starts good and runs really well it just feels like it doesn't have the response to the throttle like it should. And yes it did this when I test drove But I figured it was just a set up problem. I can live with it like it is but I would like it to be more reponsive.

I might have to come by sometime. At least it will give me a reason to go chase some bass at fork.
