Headed back to the ramp and about 50 yards into it, a very loud high pitched noise started. Sounds like it is coming from under the dash. Boat had been running fine all day, peeing fine, plenty of oil. Thinking that it is an engine alarm. As soon as you turn the key the noise starts. Where should I start?

If it is an engine alarm, would the noise still start as soon as the key is turned without cranking the engine.

The oil tank float can get saturated and sink. I had one do it to me. Instead of pulling the tank, I pulled the wire and kept the tank full. Turn the key on, disconnect the wire from the tank and see if the alarm stops.
