I have a 2009 Skeeter 190 SX with a 150 VMax. It currently does not have a jackplate but I want one on it. I am looking to sell my boat soon and figured this upgrade should be a good investment. Not necessarily a hydraulic one. My question what would be a good solid brand that is affordable?.. And then again I might not sell it and the jackplate would just be a bonus. Thanks...

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

Wood has nothing to do with it. It is the fact that they have foam transoms that will crack and saturate with water as the jack plate adds too much leverage the foam cannot handle. My ZX 180 has wood transom no problems with the 12" jack plate on it.
