I have a few reels in need of new bearings. before I pull the trigger, I want to ensure I am buying what I need. #FR-067C-OS LD on the Boca site appears to be the complete set for the I series of curado. I that the case?

Yes it is, but have you tried to flush the bearings first? There are better options for the same money than Boca.

I have and these dudes are shot. I'm all ears on a better option... what's your recommendation

I have to agree with lipjerk. I have read a lot about bearings and have installed a lot of them. I am not a big fan of Boca bearings. I don't know who lipjerk recommends, but my nod would go to ZPI bearings. I would like to hear his opinion as well.

You mentioned your bearings are shot, are they all shot? If no, I would just replace the spool bearings and any other bad bearings, not all of them. JMO

First of all are you replacing bearings so your reel is smoother, or are your bearings bad. Like mentioned earlier, clean all the bearings first and then determine which bearings if any are bad. Replace the bad ones by measuring bearing size. If all bearings are good and you just want better bearings, than I would only replace the spool bearings, and put oil back on the other bearings and replace in their proper location. As far as spool bearings to replace, it would be the bearing on the spool shaft and the one on the side plate. I do not know the numbers of the bearings for your reel. I would call up the bearing company, or the correct way is to measure them with a caliper or micrometer.

Not replacing to "make smoother". The bearings are no longer good. They are very gritty even after I flushed and oiled them. I bought a couple of reels that were used in salt water and left to sit. That's actually the reason I figured I would change all the bearings out. Looking at ZPI and boca. Honestly don't care if I could just find the factory set from shimano.

If the reels were used in salt water and they were not maintained at the minimum of once a year, then you are correct. Trash the old bearings and buy all new. Take the entire reel apart, wash all the plastic parts and use de-greaser on all metal parts. Let thoroughly dry. Once dry put all components back in and grease all gears, and oil all bearings. If you are going to use these for saltwater again, then I would wipe the entire reel down with Corrosion X. Also if these are going to be used for saltwater, you may also want to use grease in the bearing instead of oil. This will keep the balls, inner and outer races and the cage free from any intrusive salt. However all reels that are used in salt water should be wiped down with Corrosion X after every use.

In order to replace all the bearings, you will have to measure each one, write it down and then order those sizes. You may end up with some bearings that are alike. I assume you do not have the schematic for the reels. If you do they may list them in there, and you can then call up Shimano and they will sell them to you.

ZPI bearings are great, as are Hedgehog, I get mine from The Tackle Trap, I would call, they are very helpful on the phone, I'm local if you need any help.
