just got a new ugly stik 7ft med/light paired it with an abu garcia black max 3 bc. havent used it yet but i wanted to know if i can use it to fish from weightless plastic worms (yum dingers) all the way up to 1/2oz jigs?

im hoping to use this rod and reel as an all around multi lure/purpose combo, mainly for bass fishing but also for an occasional catfish and some bream.

will have 12# trilene big game mono.

Check you lure weight rating above your top grip or jus give it a try.

It should say right above the reel seat but normally they are good from 1/4 oz to 1oz
