Bought a Penn 8000 II Fierce rod and reel combo thinking it might be a decent budget combo for monster alligator gar, but turns out the new Penn Fierce II rod is a piece of junk, and the reel seat broke on its first trip out when i set the hook on a 7 foot alligator gar. i sent the rod and reel back..
