Anyone ever built a rod on this blank?

"MB873-MHX 7'3" 1 10-17 1/4 - 3/4 Fast Med-Hvy"

Dou like the MHX blanks?

How did it turn out?

Im thinking about buying this blank for my first rod build. I figured its a pretty versatile rod for plastics.

Any other blanks that you like better? Again, this will be my first rod build so im not really sure what to expect.

MHX makes a really good blank for the $..I use a CB843 personally for my sq-bill rod.I've had it for 5 years now and it's pretty hard to beat..

The MB873 that you're looking at is pretty solid blank...Good backbone, and a taper that is not terribly stiff due to the mixture of low/high fibers in construction.
Fair on weight, and sensitivity (subjective) is adequate.

For a first rod build this would be a good blank line to start on...Not busting the bank, and your getting a good product with a good warranty.

Ive got nothing bad to say about MHX...I know several professional builders that build just about everything on that particular brand.
