What is the difference between the 500 and 600 series I be using it for catfishing. I believe the amount of line it holds is the only difference going to be using 25 or 30lb mono

TEK600 is a bigger overall reel, with more line capacity. Other than that all other specs are same. I primarily use tekotas,

I have 2 TEK600, 6 TEK500s, and 6 TEK300s. TEK500 is my favorite size. I run both 30lb mono or heavy braid on my 500s. No complaints with mono capacity.
