Hi, I'm considering getting a few dobyns rods and I've got a question for you dobyns users out there. Do they typically fish lighter, heavier, or just right than their power rating? Thanks!

The dude abides...

dobyns rods are very good. They are light and sensitive. You'll get your money's worth and the price range isn't bad either!

Great rods, but if it breaks, just be ready to pay the $80 plus shipping charge. Don't expect to them to warranty it.

Which rod company will give you a new rod for free in exchange for a broken one?

I have only ever broken two rods, a Falcon Cara and Dobyns Extreme. Falcon replaced no questions asked. I paid the $80 for the Dobyns. The Dobyns exploded into four pieces on one hook set, no joke. I do however, only use Dobyns at this point.

I have a few Dobyns rods. Broke my tip in 2 places setting a hook on one of my 734c rods. Sent it in to Dobyns with an explanation of what happened. The rod was less than a year old, but they warrantied it 100%.
I love the company and the product!

I boat flipped a 7.80 on the 765 champion flipping stick. Last week I was swinging 4lbers with the 733 sierra, they are strong sticks for sure

I have several Dobyns rods and like them a LOT!!!!!!!!! They are about 1/2 power lighter than their power rating, as mentioned above, but the 5 series are strong as all get out. I am talking the 765 Champion and the 805 CB RM. I use the 805 for bubba dropshotting with 3/4 or 1 oz weights and it works GREAT. It WILL throw the 10XD, even though it is not rated for it. If you are going for a deep cranking rod, I would choose the 806 CB rod. LIGHT and strong for the Dobyns rods. GREAT rods. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
