Found a 5500 c3 at a local pawn shop. They want $60 for it and a cheap rod it is on. It seems to be in good working condition but is just dirty and needs to be cleaned. New they price about $120. Is $60 a good price for it used or should I offer less.

Too much! You can find them cleaned and lubed for $55, sometimes less a Southwest Parts and Service.

You can get the reel for less than $40 on ebay all the time. I would see if they would take $40 for just the reel.

I dropped by on my way home and they had a 6500 C3 I didn't see the first time for the same price as the 5500. Same price $60 for rod and reel. I looked the reel over and it just needs the dirt to be cleaned off of it. Mechanically its fine. I think i'll see what they will do for the 6500 tomorrow.

They should work with you on the price. I wouldnt even factor in the reels being a rod anyways. Id try to get them as close to $40 as you can. If there is dirt on the outside there is more than likely dirt on the inside too. Even if it feels like its working fine I would clean it inside and out if it were me.

Ebay has some good deals if you can find them and dont get into a bidding war with some jack [censored] lol. I always try and find reels that are broke or need fixing and its amazing what some people will bid up a broken reel to sometimes.
