I'm considering either the Fenwick HMW spinning rod or the All Star AST series spinning rod. Both in same size, strength and speed. Both are in the $70.00 range and I don't want to go any higher.
Anyone have either of these and have any opinions?
thanks in advance.

Well, for what it's worth, for me, the winner is the Fenwick in a 6'6" medium power/fast action rod.
This is based on reading a lot of product reviews, comments on the manufacturers and that fact that I just like the way it looks.
Note: i listed the incorrect model #. The correct model is HMX.

For what it's worth...I prefer Fenwick rods to nearly all others, especially their spinning rods. I have several, and enjoy using them all.

With spinning rods I prefer the fenwick over allstar. The best place to get a good deal on fenwicks is cabelas when they blow out the previous year models. Both rod brands are owned by pure fishing so its not near as big a difference in the two brands like it was several years ago.

Put the reel you intend to use on both and see which one feels better.
