HELLO FELLO BASS FISHERMEN
I'M TRING TO GET SOMEBODY THAT CAN TELL ME FROM EXPERENCE, HOW'S
THE BEST WAY TO USE FLORICARBON LINES. I WILL BE USING IT FOR THE
FIRST TIME THIS WEEKEND, BUT I'VE A TOURNAMENT THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND.
I CAN'T AFORD TO HAVE IT PISS ME OFF. THE REASON I'M SAYING THIS IS
BECAUSE I SPOOLED UP MY REEL, AND WHEN I FINISH, I CUT IT AND ALL
HELL BROKE LOOSE. I HAD LINE SHOOTING EVERYWHERE, AND IT WAS ONLY
12LBS. LINE.
PLEASE HELP
BRIAN

I will be glad to give you my opinion on it, as I have used it for about a
year and a half. First off it is not good at all for spinning equipment.
It can be done, but it is not worth the hassle to me. I use it for my Jig
rod and sometimes on my Crank bait rod, but it is best on my Carolina rig
rod. You need to keep in mind that it will take some getting used to
though. I love the way it improves the feel and sensitivity and transfers
the slightest bite to your rod tip. I use it where you can cast relatively
heavy baits and tend to keep the slack out of the line most of the time. I
don't like it on my worm rod as I use fairly light baits for bait casting
equipment (1/4 oz) and don't like the way it comes off the spool as you have
seen already. It works good for pitching 3/8 oz jigs as long as you don't
try to pitch to far, and it is great for flipping. I would recommend
starting with your heavy equipment first and take it from there.
I hope it works out for you.

Hello Bryan.
Well I have not heard about it shooting everywhere. I use it all the time
and have ever since it came out.
I do not like it for top water lures. It sinks in the water and causes the
top water plug to drag under. However it does NOT absorb water and
therefore it works the last cast like the first.
I have had several people tell me that it breaks of in the spool. I have
has a little experience with that but when I do get a back lash I do not
pull it hard. I use a Croatia hook to help be get untangles. I never use
the hook side. Only to insert and pull upward with the shaft. I no longer
have the problem.

I do one other thing when I go fishing (with any line) I use silicon spray
on my reel and line before the first cast and again after it has spooled out
part way. I spray again. Only one time a day. This has helped me when I
do forget and throw into the wind and do not thumb it enough. Back lash
problems are rare but when I do get one. I work it out carefully making
sure that I do not kink the line and have a breakoff.

The brand you are using may be the problem. Strend. I have never used. Bass
Proshop brand I have. No problem. Vanish. I am using now. I did have a
little problem when I started using it. Pulling to hard on a back lash and
kink the line and then break off.

To me it is good. Some people do not like it but I think it is the way it
is handled.

George C Carr said that from Lubbock Texas.

I love flourocarbon line, Seagar, vanish. It has very low memory retention, and you feel your hits better, little or no stretching also (depending on the size of your monster bass).

Good luck. I know that fluorocarbon line is very popular but I've had it on
my reels twice and took it off both times. I put it on just as it came out
but lost several good fish when it broke for no apparent reason. The
literature says it is very abrasian resistent but I did not find that to be
true. Six months later I went to a seminar and listened to Gary Kline talk
about how great it was so went out and bought another $100 dollars worth.
Fished it for a short while but found the same problem with breaking with
very little pressure. As far as the bites, I couldn't really notice an
increase in the number of bites with or w/o.
