Bought my first boat in February a 2000 Ranger R93VS. With the larger screen of the Helix 10 I'll be mounting next to the console. I'm looking for pros and cons of these mounts. How well do they hold up over time? I have read with help from the tool on the Ram-d-202-25-c-202u it will handle rough water well. Also I have come across the Ram D-111-C which seems to be a universal mount with a 2.25" ball. Is there any difference in the two (202 VS 111).
Thankful for any input.

Cant catch em sitting at the house.

Swing arm is much sturdier. Don't need a tool to tighten. Its a great mount for the console. I removed all my ram ball mounts and went with the swing arm at the console band Cisco on the bow.

I have a swing arm at the console and a ball mount on the bow. Overall, I'd probably say that the swing arm is sturdier. The only reason I'd put a ball mount on the console is if you need to be able to quickly turn it around so that you can see it on the bow. To turn the swing arm around, mine has 3 adjustments that have to be made to be able to see it on the bow. These three are the two bolts on the swing arm, plus having to tilt the fish finder with the screws that mount it to the swing arm.

With the ball mount, just the one lever would need to be adjusted.

If you're not going to need to see the Helix 10 from the bow, it's a no-brainer to me, go with the swing arm.

Swing arm is sturdy and very versatile. I have it on my Helix 12. It allows me to view from the drivers seat or swiveled around to clearly view it from the bow.

I remove all of my Ram mounts and went with the Balzout mounts went I upgraded this last time mainly because Tackle Warehouse was out of the Ram swing arm, but I'm happier with the flexibility of the Balzout. I don't have pictures of the bow setup just the console.

I went from the large Ram mount to a BalzOut at the console and couldn't be happier. Set it and you're done, no slipping. It's rock solid!
