I picked up a smokin deal (it seems) for a new Minnkota power drive V2. I had been holding out to get something similar for my boat but figured it would be a while. I can get my hands on the Ipilot conversion top for it and have been thinking about it. The thing that interest me is the Spot Lock feature. I have done some reading and this and that and it looks like my assumption is correct. Will I be able to use this as a stand alone feature without actually connecting it to my fish finder to set and run tracks? I have an 899HDSI or whatever its called in the back and I moved the Helix 5 to the front but its not compatible.

Thanks

The motor is a stand-alone GPS with no communication available to a sonar/GPS unit.

There is a US2 version with built-in 2D sonar transducer to connect to most brands of 2D sonar units.
