So, I'm looking into upgrading from a traditional Lowrance with DI to getting side imaging. Saw a special at Cabelas for a Garmin 7 inch, chirp, with Side Imaging. This is a great price. I don't know too much about Garmin, but for that price I might just get it. Anyone have this unit?

If you don't need or want mapping this is a great unit for the price. It has GPS just not maps. There is no card slot so you can't take screen shots. You can do trails and way points with this unit.
If you want mapping you will need to step up to the echoMAP series.

Today, I picked up the 7CV for front of boat ($399 at BP) and echoMAP CHIRP 93sv for back of boat ($999 at BP). After 2 years with just a RayMarine Dragonfly Pro 5, I cannot wait to get these on board and get out on the water!
