I am planning to update the electronics on my boat and am currently considering 2 options that fit my budget. Any advise & opinions are appreciated.
Options 1 Lowrance Gen-2 Touch sonar /GPS (to mount at the console) 2 Lowrance Hook 7 Units I would plan to link together.(to mount at the console & bow)
Any thoughts, ideas or experiences ? Tks,

I assume if you went with Gen-2 touch it would be a pre-owned unit. You need to consider what size Gen-2 and what you have up front on the boat if you spent your monies on the Gen-2 for the console. Hook units will provide Mapping, Sonar and Down-Scan. The Gen-2 without LSS2 structure scan box & transducer will only provide mapping and sonar. Note, the HOOK units cant be linked together. They will not communicate with each other as they are stand-alone units.

I have the HDS gen 2 touch and an old HB Matrix on the console I just use the Matrix for mapping it comes up faster and shows more contours I really like the touch screen of he HDS just wished it had the Chirp technology.
