I had my HDS 9 moved from my brother's boat to mine. It worked perfectly on his boat. The picture is very poor on my boat. We don't know if it is due to interference or possibly we damaged the transducer or other cable. Has anyone seen this type of bad image on their unit?

I have done a hard reset and all settings are back to factory configuration and that did not help.

Check the connections for bent pins, check your in-line fuses. It looks like a connection or electrical problem rather than a transducer issue to me. Is this with the motor on or off?

Thanks, David. The photos are with motor and all other electricals off. After cranking up the motor and powering up the other depth finders, there is no change. I also have HDS7 and elite 7. Both of them have good images. The HDS7 does not have SI as I sold the gen 1 module and another HDS7 as part of the swap for the HDS9.

Here's a good test, put it in demo mode and see if you still get the cutout on the screen. That'll narrow it down to power or not!
