I've been doing a little more night fishing lately, as that seems to be the only times I have available with work and 2 kids under age 3 at home. I'm noticing, though, that I'm having issues seeing where I'm going and waste a lot of time puttering around slowly rather than fishing. I'm trying to come up with a way to add a few lights to my boat, for temporary use on these evening excursions. Do any of y'all have any pics or suggestions of things y'all have done with your own boats?
I'm running a 16' Blue Wave and available space is somewhat limited so I'd like to find ideas to mount lights that I can easily remove when I don't need them. So far what I've come up with is possibly attaching them to the hand rail that runs around the wind shield and running those to a little 12V battery I could stick in my cup holder, but I'm sure the more experiences anglers on here might have some pointers.

Just buy a cree headlamp. They have one that the bean is adjustable from flood to spotlight. They put off quite a powerful beam and are always pointed where you are looking.

Headlamps work great but attract bugs to your face. I use a 10' piece of closet dowel from Home Depot, wrapped about 6' of a white LED strip around one end of it and zip tied it so it won't peel off, then ran a wire down it to a cigarette lighter plug on the end. I drop it in one of my vertical rod holders on the side of the center console and plug it into the 12v outlet at the helm. It lights up my whole boat like a lantern and keeps the bugs well overhead. Also meets the requirements of the anchor light.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
