Come to find out the soft way i have rotten bunks on my trailer.... Any recommendations on aftermarket bunks? Looking at ultimate bunks and wondering if they are any good? If not; steer me in the right direction please.

Thanks for the post.... I wish I was on Fork. If there was someone on Conroe I'd be all over this!

Before I got my new aluminum trl., I had a galvanized EZ Loader w/ two bunks skids.I replaced them w/ treated 2x6's and tacked down Blue Marine grade carpet. Not a hard job at all.

My carpet was starting to wear out in spots after a year and a half. I covered them with some plastic material that works very well. The issue I had was, the end pieces for the bunks fit the 2X4s right, but the sides had to be shimmed 1/8" on each side for the covering to fit right. I wasn't able to rip treated strips for shims so I think these may rot out after a short while. When they do I'm going to install the Ultimate bunks. I did a lot of research and read reviews and those seem to be the best bang for the buck. I may go ahead and oder them anyway.

Update on the Ultimate Bunk Boards.... My wife and I (yes i said my WIFE) installed them yesterday afternoon. It took us about an hour and a half to do. It was a VERY easy job and I ended up using recessed bolts rather than lag bolts through the bottom. Putting the boat back on the trailer was a breeze and the flex in the boards, although more than wood, were not as bad as I thought. In my opinion well worth the money.
