ordered one of these earlier this year looked to be a well designed product i was very careful to order the correct one for my application witch was a 2005 yamaha hpdi 250 on a 05 rangerz21 used 3 times it fell and was hanging from the lower brackets it had bent the middle support and the plastic caps where missing. made a call to the company they stated maybe it was not installed properly sent numerous photos and several phone calls spoke to one of the engineers he told me he was going to care of me ... i could take a hammer and straighten it out and he would send me new plastic caps. lol one said he was going to refund my money 3months later no parts no money guess they must have forgot my name.lol the one pis shows where it left a gouge in my lower unit

I have used one for last two years and never had a problem with it and have towed about 5000 miles with it on.

I ran one on a 2007 Yamaha vmax for years with no issues.
The motor mate will only hold the motor up, not keep it from bouncing up. Sounds like your hydraulic on the motor isn't applying the back pressure that keeps the motor from bouncing upwards when you hit a bump. The trim should be able to hold the motor down during trailering, applying pressure to the two tubes on the motor mate. Sounds like you would have similar issues with any "motor toter"

Slow down when you hit those pot holes. Looks like your motor jumped out of the motor mate and slammed back down on it. JMO

Maybe you hit the trim switch on the bow or shifter and didn't notice it.suprised they wouldn't give you a new one tho they aren't cheap

guess i need to slow down on the pot holes... trim down holding the switch an xtra second or to making sure that is was all the way down went buy a local dealer that had a new boat motor slack seem to be about the same. bought one of the pro-rule and no problems there is really no way it could come off.

That exact thing happened to mine as well. But it was my fault, I lost my trim and there was no pressure to hold the motor down on the mounts. So when I hit a bump the motor jumped up and came down and bent the cross bar as you have in your pic. One of my cups is just fine the other just busted the out part but the dimple is still there.

Motor mate has been the best for my engine. Even after this happened, I am still using it and it is still rock solid. Not complaints here. Great product.
