I have a 997, I bought new in 2010, it has been shutting down a lot, I have to wiggle the cord. I took the plug in apart and tried a new power cord, the plugin on the back of unit is loose, should I send it in or what?

If the transducer receptacle is "loose" it is broken.

The unit is still on the flat rate repair charge list, but you may not want to spend that much on that unit. The price includes whatever it takes to get you a functioning unit--even replacement. The list is on the Humminbird website.
