I'm looking to change up my jigs a little for a local high pressure reservoir and I've never bought a non skirted jig head before. I wanted to see what you all have had luck with. I really like my Gamakatsu hooks but it doesn't seem like the weedless options are as plentiful as I thought they would be.

I was looking through tackle warehouse and there are a few options, just nothing I have experience using. Any advice would be appreciated.

What are you fishing for? How are you fishing?

I've got several dozen jig molds. Each has it's place and use.

I guess I should rephrase the question. I don't need to know what shape or weight of jig to use. I want to know what brand of skirtless jig you all have good luck with. The last thing I want to do is buy a handful of jigs that have cheap hooks.

Sigh, your question is still very vague. You're apparently looking for good quality JIG HEADS. Without knowing what STYLE jig head you're looking for it's almost impossible to give any recommendations.

We don't even know what species your fishing for.

I cast all my own jig heads. I use a variety of Eagle Claw, Mustad and VMC hooks. I've never had a hook problem with my jig heads.

Now if you really want help PLEASE give us the basics.

What are you fishing for?

What style of jig head are you looking for?

If you're unable or unwilling to answer those questions then just give Mike at Moe's a call. He makes jig heads for crappie, white/hybrid/striper and slimy green bass fishing.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was being vague. I strictly fish for largemouth bass. I use a lot of swim, structure, flipping, punching jigs. I am wanting to purchase jig heads to either customize, or to use Yamamoto double tail hula grubs on. I am very picky about hooks which is why I find it hard to purchase them online when I know very little about them.

I have never even considered casting my own. I would have to way the expense vs savings on that option. Thank you for mentioning that.
