I'm looking into buying a new Lowrance FF and I'm a little confused. Maybe one of you guys can tell me the difference between the Elite-5 Chirp, the Hook 5, and the Elite-5 Chirp Gold. They are all around the same price, and all seem to have the same features, is one better than the other?

The Hook 5 is a renamed Elite 5 for 2016 as Lowrance discontinued the "elite" name. The Elite 5 gold comes with Navionics pre-loaded. The Hook 5 or standard Elite 5 Chirp will require a mapping card to get hd mapping contours. Lake Insight or Navionics will work on these units
