Pros/cons? Any issues? Was at a major retailer and advised to lay off for a couple years till the "bugs" got resolved

I think the main bug is the belt that deploys it. Also, trying to mount a transducer to it. I just bought a terrova right before the ulterra came out. I wouldn't want to be without it now. If the ulterra had been out and I had the extra cash to move up to it, I think that I would have bit the bullet and gone with it even with the bugs.

I have the 36 volt, 60" Ulterra with ILink and it has worked perfect every time so far! I love it.

I have had an Ulterra 80 US2 I-Pilot since April and could not be more pleased with everything it does. I am using a Lowrance HDS 8 with the built in transducer.
The stow/deploy is what I like best. When I get ready to leave a spot I put it on low speed away from the bank into the wind while getting a drink, tying down rods, and hooking up kill switch. When I go home I am not tired from lifting the trolling motor up and down. It sure is nice to go anywhere in the boat to do something while using the remote control.
I had an 80lb Motor Guide before getting the Ulterra. Even with using the remote steer and the stow/deploy I believe that my batteries last longer than with the Motor Guide. Better digital motor?
The speed of the turning motor is almost as fast as the foot control, only about 3 or 4 seconds difference. Also the turning noise is a little more than the running motor.
All Ulterra's were recalled about the first of the year for a programing problem, but I am not aware of any problems after they were put back out for use. Mine and others that I know of all work O K.
I believe that the Ulterra and Motor Guide remote controlled trolling motors will be used by many boaters when they can afford them.

I'm running the Ulterra 112# 36v. I really like it. No issues and makes fishing easier. I had my left knee rebuilt and 2 back surgeries and climbing to the front of the boat and putting and pulling the TM all day really wears on me. Since I most often fish from the helm, it is nice to never even leaving the sterring wheel to fish!
