I presently have a Lowrance 520C. If I wanted to go with a new model, will it still use the same hookups or do I have to rewire everything and run a new transducer?

Anyone? I would like to upgrade from a 520C to an HDS 7. Same cables or not?

Yes - Power connections are the same. You can also use the same transducer, however you'll have to select your transducer type from the HDS7 menu.

yes... the power cord and transducer will work on the new hds units, but you have power up nema 2000 by a power node now. thats if you have them net work to another unit or ext. gps ant. etc....

Linked meaning, when they were both 520's they were hooked together sharing weighpoints (in fisherman english)hehe I think i used RED with the 2 520s hooked together
When i installed the HDS system, all i really did was swap head units, used same power cables, transducers, pucks etc
So i still need this N2K-PWR-RD Part # 119-75 $48.21

yes, u will need that. because the hds unit does power net work by the main power cord.
if wanted since u have a 520 up front u can see if u still have enough nema power cord coming off the main power cord. if do u can used that power up the net work.
its kinda confusing i know. it gives me headache sometime LOL
