With the popularity of 24volt and 36 volt trolling motors, why aren’t 24volt high amp marine batteries more widely available?
I know they are used for industrial machinery
Optima used to sell a 24volt battery for the marine market and there was another company that used to sell one also.
Some of the lithium marine batteries are available in 24 volt
Seems like a 24volt battery would simplify wiring, charging, and save space
Is it because they are so heavy? Or people were running out of terminal thread to attach auxiliaries?

Weight and size. Much easier to fit 2 12volt batteries in the small areas of a boat. We run 3 12 volt batteries in our semi tractors, 24 volt for start and 12 volt for house battery. Way easier to handle.
