I have an 1198 at dash and a 998 at bow. Both units running off same transducer off jackplate. When I get in depths less than 8 feet the numerical depth reading jumps wildly. The bottom contour shows correctly. What gives ?

Reduce the Sensitivity and use Switchfire Clear.
