Having some weird issues with my Gen 1 si/di/gps thinking about updating to see if it fixes some of them. My concern is they say to restore factory defaults prior to updating. It took me quite a while to get it set to where it is now and I don't want to have start all over. Perhaps I need to store these settings on an SD card?

You can't save settings with a Helix. If you can't get back to what you had, write them down for a reference.
The software update will automatically restore defaults even if you don't do it.
