Sonar gurus - My primary unit is a Humminbird 1199 ciHD SI and I have a Humminbird 788ci DI in my closet. Wondering if I could install and use the 788 for traditional 2D sonar along with the 1199 for SI and DI without any sonar interference? I would install the 788 transducer and have both running. Is there an easy way to link the two systems and use one transducer?

Or is this a non-issue?

Thanks.

Is the 788 hd? Then you could network them. If not it's gonna be tough. The Humminbird transducers are always pinging the 200kHz even when only using the 83 kHz. I am assuming you are wanting to transom mount both transducers.

I believe the 788 is hd. This is for my kayak, and the 788 transducer is thru the hull capable. I'll check into networking and see what it would take...a cable?

One other option would be to get the SI thru hull transducer and hook it directly to the 1198 and network from it, just turn sonar off on the 788 to prevent damage to the 788

You cannot get DI from a SI transducer for the DI unit.
The only thing the 788ci HD DI Combo can share from the 1199ci HD SI Combo is 200 kHz 2D sonar.

The DI transducer is not shoot-thru advisable anymore. The XIH 9 DI T has been discontinued.
