I've got another boat to put some Electronics on. I am thinking of going with Humminbird. I want to put the same exact units on the console and the front. Console will be a transom mount transducer and front will be a trolling motor transducer. Would this be a good Unit to do it with-HELIX 10 SI GPS | HELIX 10 Series | 409990-1 or am I missing something? I want both down and side imaging and want the units linked. Sorry but its too confusing out there to know what unit does what-I was a Lowrance guy for the last 29 years or so and have had a few Bird Products but not familiar with all my options. $ are a factor but really want to put on there what I want as I will be swapping out head units to use on another rig.
Thanks

What are you fishing for? Largemouth? Whites and hybrids?

All of the above plus crappie-I want to move the head units back and forth from a 21' glass boat to my 22' pontoon boat. each boat will keep it's own set of transducers. Trolling motor on front of each along with transom mount on each hull

What does Hbird use to link the units with-NMEA2000, or ethernet or what these days?

Humminbird uses Ethernet to share data and connect to Ethernet accessories.
Engine data is via the AS ETH NMEA2K connected to the unit with an Ethernet cable.
To have more than two devices connected to share data takes the Ethernet switch AS ETH 5PXG. Each device connects to the switch and all data is shared.

The Helix units need an Ethernet adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to them-AS EC QDE.

The first generation Helix 10 SI uses a HDSI transducer and the second generation G2N SI model uses the MEGA SI transducer. The MEGA has a dedicated Down Imaging crystal and the first generation gets the DI view by blending the two SI pulses.
