I have a Lowrance HDS GEN 3 on the trolling motor and at the console. I have a down imaging transducer mounted on the transom. The transducer on the trolling motor has broken off and I want to replace it with a down imaging transducer. How do I do that? Do I use the same model down imaging transducer that is on the transom? Is there an adapter to make it fit on the trolling motor? Help me out TFF. Thanks

You have a couple to options but since you mentioned "breaking off" the sonar TD, I would recommend the HDI 83/200/455/800 Transducer and then buy the Transducer Shield and Saver bracket to mount it to your TM. You'll also need 2 stainless ring clamps.

For the transome, I would get the TOTAL SCAN TD, and take advantage of sidescan. Plus it's 1 transducer that does it all: 2D, Downscan, and sidescan. You could swap the rear HDI to the TM, and add the TotalScan. Then you'd have the what you need.

The HDI will give you 2D sonar and Downscan together.

What model trolling motor? What model transducer do you currently have on the transom? If it is an HDI, then I would recommend moving it to the trolling motor and then getting an LSS for the transom. You will also need a 2D transducer mounted either to the transom or in the bilge. If you decide to mount it the bilge, make sure the transducer has either no Temp. sensor or a remote one.
