I am using Navionics Hot Maps Platinum on my HDS 5 unit. It's a pretty old unit I believe it is gen 2. The issue that I am having is that when I am navigating across the lake my chart will sporadically turn off and go to a whit screen. I have to switch to another page on the Lowrance and switch back for the GPS chart to re-load. Has this happened to anyone and if so how would I fix this issue? I upgraded the software on the Lowrance prior to installing the Navionics card.

jaw116, what HDS model? When was the last time the software was updated and how old is the Navionics card? Sorry for all of the questions, but the more info the better.

HDS 5 I think Gen 2. It was updated to the 4.1 software when I installed the new Navionics card about a month ago. I am pretty sure it's the unit itself as I am having issues with the sonar as well. I put a new ducer on this weekend and it isn't working properly. I have the same unit on the bow. I'm going to swap them out and see if it works any better.

Let me know how that works after you swap the units, it does sound like it may be a unit problem, but if for some reason it is the card just let me know and we will get it worked out.

Sounds like a unit problem. go to the settings and change from the Navionics card to the built in mapping and see if it still does it.

It was a problem with the unit. I swapped them out and now the Navionics card works great without any issues as well as the sonar.

Good deal, glad you got it figured out. Hopefully nothing major with the unit, maybe just a software update.
