Ok, so I can't believe how worthless the maps on my new HDS 7 are. They may as well have not bothered. I don't have time to mess around with that stupid insight genesis "social maps" [censored] and no one has uploaded anything on there of Conroe or Fayetteville when i checked that. So... i need to buy a good map chip that has the Texas lakes on it, with all the good stuff on them. Boat lanes where needed, dangerous areas, creek beds, you name it. I want to be able to safely navigate lakes I am not super familiar with. Point me in the right direction folks! I obviously don't know [censored] about it, and honestly, don't want to invest a great deal of time learning to build custom maps and all that jazz. I want to volunteer to captain a high school team boat and want to feel comfortable on lakes I am not super familiar with, as I am fairly new to the Houston area lakes. If this is unrealistic... tell me what is realistic.
Thanks!

As stated above, the Platinum South would be you best bet for plug and play mapping. You can check out the webapp as well to see the available mapping for the lakes you fish:

If you have any other questions about the card feel free to ask away.
