I have a minnkota trolling motor, 101lbs and lowrance electronics. I just replaced my starter battery with an AGM battery and now have trolling motor interference with my hds10 up front. How would I go about trouble shooting or narrowing down the cause/s? thanks,
randy

Does your TM have a built in transducer? If so, are you using it, or one attached externally?
You changed NOTHING but the battery? No new wiring attachments or moved any wiring from one battery position to another? Going to AGM isn't going to cause interference - something else is doing it. Have you moved around any wiring in the boat? Tied any of the wiring into tight bundles? The interference is only when TM is running? Any speed, or only higher speed?

flippin out thanks for your response. The information I shared is correct. All I did is change my starter battery from an interstate battery to a north star agm battery. No other changes at all. the transducer is not internal to the trolling motor it is the external type attached to the trolling motor. I have a degree in electronics so I understand the thoughts around what else has changed. And truly nothing else has changed except my move to the agm battery. thanks for your thoughts.

Use that electronics degree to know that AGM doesn't make interference when none existed previously. Something HAS changed - that electronics degree should tell you that. It's likely coincidental and unrelated that it happened now, burt something had to change - the laws of physics are fairly steady these days.
