I have this unit installed at my bow and have a HDI transducer on the trolling motor. The 2D sonar is working fine but when I switch to down imaging the screen is black. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Make sure the correct transducer is selected in the menu. Settings-sonar-installation and select the hdi 83/200-455 transducer.
