I Now have a lowrance 15mt on dash with 50/200 puck trans glued in sump. Plan to move the 15mt to trolling motor and will get a new 200khz trans to mount on trolling motor. I also have a 50/200 skimmer trans that came with my 15mt that I have never used, as I originally went with the puck style in the sump. I am buying a new hds-7 gen 3 to put on dash, comes with 83/200 w/lss2. How can i do this combo of units to get the most from both, units and transducers. And/or will the two units transducers interfear with each other being 17ft apart and both on 200khz.

There is a standby setting on the HDS gen 3 that will leave the unit on but stop the sonar. There is also a stop sonar button that will do the same. I have the HDS7 gen 3 on the console with the 83/200khz and 455/800 transducers on the transom and really like it and also have another cheaper Lowrance on the bow with the 83/200 transducer on the TM. I don't have any issues with crosstalk on any frequencies that I've noticed.

Thanks ghostrider, I was beginning to think no responses that I had ask too many stupid questions. Will the gen 3 hook up to and read my old sump transd while running high speed if a transom mount kicks up. Typically my spring shoreline fishing will kick up any transom transducer as well as plug my inlet to speedometer on motor. Got to get in that brush to get those crappie!!!

I don't know what kind of connector your old transducer has so I don't know if it will hook up or not. I don't believe that you can run 2 seperate 83/200khz transducers at the same time though. I believe it only has ports for one 83/200 and 1 LSS transducer on the back of the HDS 7 Gen3. The other ports are for nema 2000 connections, etc..... Both of my transducers are mounted on my transom, the 83/200 with the mount that came with it and the LSS2 transducer is mounted on a spring mount that allows it to spring up if I go over a stump with it.
